MICKELSON HAS CONFIDENCE BACK

Former three-time winner of the Masters Phil Mickelson believes that he is back among the elite and in the mix of top golfers in the world after his confidence was restored thanks to him rediscovering the touch on the greens that had once made him a formidable opposition to even the best players in the world. A fact that is extremely astounding for all of the fans of Mickelson is that if the performances of former world number one Tiger Woods and Mickelson are taken into account since the 1st of January, 2011 and now, Mickelson is miles ahead of The Tiger and arguably the best player in the world at the moment, on form.

Mickelson was crowned the champion at the Pebble Beach national Pro-Am last month and he is sure to start as one of the favorites for the Augusta Nationals which kicks off next month. But Phil Mickelson also knows that he still has a long way to go before he can mount a serious challenge for the top spot in the golf rankings, where Rory McIlroy has more or less secured his place at least for the next few events.

The left handed Mickelson is currently competing in the World Golf Championships: Cadillac Championships in Doral, Miami in the United States of America, where Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, the top three players in the world have been grouped together for the first two rounds of the Championships.

Speaking to the media during a break from play at Miami, Mickelson stated that he was just glad to be back among the fold of the best golfers in the world. With extreme humility in his words and in his play, Phil Mickelson looks much like the player we thought we had lost a few years back but now he is back and looking good for another stint at the top.
