Adrian Otaegui: The Next Big Thing

Adrian Otaegui is the youngest Spanish player to have won the prestigious and much coveted European Tour Card.  He is tipped by many experts and critics to be the next best golfer in the world. This Spanish champion, who turned 19 this November the 12th, has gained a position in the next year’s professional tour at a younger age than Sergio Garcia and Seve Ballesteros.

The great Jose Maria Olazabal has commented that Adrian Otaegui has the potential to be the next big thing in the world of golf. He has trained with him and thinks that Adrian has great potential.

According to Jose Maria Olazabal, Adrian Otaegui has a beautiful iron play and a great short game. He thinks that if Adrian has to compete with the best in the world then he will have to hit off the tee with a lot more power.

Adrian Otaegui will be making his much awaited debut in South Africa at the Africa Open which will be starting on the fifth of January. He just came through the important European tour Q School in the very first attempt where he showed a lot of potential and dazzled the crowds with his performance.

One of his strong points is that he is fluent in both French and English. That way he will not be encountering lingual barriers and has announced that father Javier will be continuing as his caddie in the future.

Adrian Otaegui has said that he is very excited to be playing in the European Tour of 2012. He said that Tour School was a great and a learning experience for him but the real test awaits now. He has acknowledged that the real hard and gruelling work will begin for him shortly, in a matter of two or three weeks.

While Adrian Otaegui has been making ripples everywhere in the world of Golf, it remains to be seen if he can actually live up to the expectation and hype that has surrounded him. It will be very important for him to keep his head in his place and not be swayed by the success and glory that the sport will bring him.
