Jamie Donaldson ready to rock US Masters

Jamie Donaldson, the Welsh golf player, is all set to fulfill his dream with US Masters at Augusta in April. He ended the European Tour 2012 on a high in Dubai. The thirty seven year old Welshman hit a final round sixty nine to end on fourteen under and a tie for 9th position in the cash rich DP World Tour Championship that held in United Arab Emirates.

With this finish, Jamie Donaldson ended the season with £ 926885 at the 19th position, which is also his career high finish. More importantly, Donaldson is set for another good news i.e. his dream of playing in the US Masters 2013 has become a reality. During the 2012 season it was his target to play in the US Masters in the year 2013.

The Welsh golfer still needs to be within the top fifty positions by the end of this year to make his very first visit to Georgia. He has already secured a position at Open in Muirfield by ending within top thirty in money list.

Earlier Jamie Donaldson abandoned all his programs to attempt for a PGA Tour card so that he could concentrate on to secure his spot in the top fifty in Dubai. He told that that was one his goals this year. When he was a kid, he has dreams of playing in Augusta Masters. He told that he would love to achieve that; therefore, there is a lot to play for.

OTAEGUI FOLLOWS IN HIS HERO’S FOOTSTEPS

Adrian Otaegui from Spain won the prestigious 2010 Boys Amateur Championship to become the Champion Boy Golfer of the year. He beat Max Rottluff of Germany four and three in the thirty six holes final at Kilmarnock. Jose Maria Olazabal (in 1983), Sergio Garcia (in 1997) and Pablo Martin (2001) have been the previous winners of the same prestigious tournament from Spain.

It was all square in the 20th hole and then Adrian Otaegui struck his opponents a major blow as he won four consecutive holes with brilliant scores of par, birdie, bogey and par.

The Spaniard later said that he was very excited at having won the tournament and admitted that he played very well. He admitted the fact that he did not putt very well as compared to his opponents but he was very good with the irons. With this great victory, he has earned himself an invitation into the prestigious 2011 Amateur Championship which will be held at Hillside and Hesketh.

He said that Olazabal is his golf hero and to have his name next to his in the trophy is like a dream come true. He admitted that he practices sometimes with his idol and was planning to call him up and tell him about his victory.

He has also been selected to represent the continent of Europe in the prestigious Jacques Leglise Trophy Match and their nine men team will face the might of the Great Britain and Ireland at Castelconturbia in the country of Italy.
