Mickelson was crowned the champion at the Pebble Beach national Pro-Am last month and he is sure to start as one of the favorites for the Augusta Nationals which kicks off next month. But Phil Mickelson also knows that he still has a long way to go before he can mount a serious challenge for the top spot in the golf rankings, where Rory McIlroy has more or less secured his place at least for the next few events.

The left handed Mickelson is currently competing in the World Golf Championships: Cadillac Championships in Doral, Miami in the United States of America, where Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, the top three players in the world have been grouped together for the first two rounds of the Championships.

Speaking to the media during a break from play at Miami, Mickelson stated that he was just glad to be back among the fold of the best golfers in the world. With extreme humility in his words and in his play, Phil Mickelson looks much like the player we thought we had lost a few years back but now he is back and looking good for another stint at the top.

He said that Olazabal is his golf hero and to have his name next to his in the trophy is like a dream come true. He admitted that he practices sometimes with his idol and was planning to call him up and tell him about his victory.

He has also been selected to represent the continent of Europe in the prestigious Jacques Leglise Trophy Match and their nine men team will face the might of the Great Britain and Ireland at Castelconturbia in the country of Italy.

It was a disappointing finish to the tournament for Max Rottluff from Germany as he lost the title to Adrian Otaegui but he commented that he was very pleased with his performance in the tournament and admitted that his opponent played a better game of golf and hence deserved the victory. It remains to be seen if Adrian Otaegui can transform his amateur success into a professional one.

In a few years time it may well be Otaegui who has the best US Open golf odds, and is challenging Rory McIlroy for the title.

The excellent array of skills displayed in every game goes on to show that he is improving constantly and bettering his game play with every tournament. He has recently been approached by Joseph Kahn, an extremely talented and well to do film maker who has shown immense interest in having a shoot with Phil Mickelson. Kahn has been quite a renowned figure when it comes to making of film shoots and has worked with some of the great celebrities of the time. The current shoot for Phil Mickelson is planned and scheduled to be held at the Las Vegas strip.

Kahn has all the imagination in his mind and wants to execute it in the proper manner. He wants to bring about a new and novel approach to the photo shoot and will try to portray a new dimension to the golfing world, one of which that has never been explored before. He is trying his level best to get the Mirage volcano at Las Vegas to be the background of the shoot with Phil Mickelson striking a 100 yard shot in the forefront. The burst of flames blended in with the accurate shot is sure to add the zeal and spirit to the game of golf.

Phil Mickelson is quite eager to be a part of this shoot as the concept enthralls and excites him. He is contented with the approach and finds it quite novel, yet related. It’s a way to express out to people making them aware, not only of the beauty of the products, but also of the action packed adventure that comes along with it.

The GSU golf team will be competing in the first golf tournament of 2012 in Gainesville, Fla to showcase their skills. The tournament will be held at Mark Bostic Golf Course, a course that is short by professional standards, but nevertheless is one of the most challenging courses in the area.

The tournament will be the first of the semester, yet it is not the first of the golf season. The Eagles participated in five tournaments last year and GSU as a team has the record of achieving three of top five finishes among the five tournaments.

It was Lewis Gruber’s effort which helped the Eagles to win the tournament. The Eagles are currently fifth in the conference rankings and there are 6 tournaments to go. Larry Mays is the head coach of the Eagles who has been coaching the team for more than a decade.

During the first year in the 2000-2001 season, he led his team to first postseason appearance since 1988 for which he was awarded as the “Coach of the Year”, which won him tickets to the American Masters (click here to see the latest Masters golf betting odds – we’re tipping Tiger!).

Since starting his term at GSU, Mays has led the Eagles to 3 SoCon championship victories and they also featured in 9 NCAA Regional Championship appearances.
